Artist's Comments

Talk about playing with your food. ;)

It was originally rotated so that the tangerine was on the left ... but in a spurt of inspiration[?] I rotated it. :D And now I'm happy with it. Kinda pleasant to look at, if I do say so myself. ;)

As always, comments/critiques always welcome and appreciated!

Great use of negative space here, nice border and titling too, as for the tangerine itself, the composition is very good, But I think the focus could be better; the closest part of the tangerine seems to be out of focus, I think it's be nice if all the visible tangerine was in focus

Nifty Idea there Rob, I very much like it. :D would have been cool against a red bakcground.

Yea, I took it from a macro shot so the entire tangerine wasn't in focus. I'm gonna try retaking with a better focus. :)

This indeed is an excellent example of negative space. I am taking lessons from this one!

Very nice. I'm really starting to enjoy your photography. Fantastic capture...the negative space adds greatly to it.

This is a really good idea and photo. Love what you did with a simple tangerine.
I wonder how this would look like with a blue background (complimentary color).

interesting looking photo .. the large potion of negative space works well together with the macro photography of that orange thingy .. one could probably try to add a bit of blue, so it looks more like an actual sunrise, such as maybe putting water in the background, fading to full transparency very soon (so you keep that effect with the negative space) .. well done, in any case :aww:
